How to be a Summer Goddess!

Hey guys!
Yaaay so here in Australia summer is pretty much here! (my favorite time of the year!)
We all like to look amazing in summer, but going to the beach, heat, sweat etc can get in the way of that!
So here are a few little tips to help keep your skin and makeup looking amazing thoughout the summer months!

well its obviouse isnt it!
I know so many people dont like wearing sunblock, and they want to be tanned and stunning in summer.
My personal view is FAKE DONT BAKE!
It might seem well and good to tan now or cook in a solarium for 30mins or so! but trust me in 10 20 years time you will be kicking yourself......if you havent already got skin caner!
Your skin will be leathery....yes it will be tan but do you want to end up looking like this????
Everywhere i went in Thailand people looked like this!!! NO JOKE!

So that being said if you want  a stunning tan PLEASE do yourself and your skin a favour and fake it!
Check out this tutorial for more info on tans

i think one deterant from people wearing sunblock is the smell! If you can find one that smells great its going to make your skin smell deliciouse and it will be protecting you!
My personal favourite is
Le Tans Coconut Lotion
Smells well.....like coconuts!
Make sure when buying a sunblock your choosing one with AT LEAST SPF30 and that is UVA and UVB protecting!

When im weaing sunblock and makeup i skip moisturizer (as sunblock can be greasy) and use it as a primer under my foundation. Make sure its absorbs into your skin before applying makeup! TRUST ME this will save you a massive head ache later on!
BUT if this sunblock lasts only 4 hrs.......???? what about the rest of the day!????
Defiantly i recommend re-applying sunblock though out the day, but some formulas  can wreck your makeup and make it smudge or look shiny
SO i have found 2 products the first is a internet only purchase
its Michelle Phan's IQQU

Its called ADVANCED SUNCREAM! as its a mousse consistancy and its a matte formular perfect for re-applying over makeup!
Check out her products here!

The next is a bit closer to home its
Megan Gale's Invisible zinc
this is tinted and looks just like concearler or foundation...is on the $$ side but well worth it!

So now that your skin is protected lets keep that makeup on!

If your going to the beach and HAVE to wear makeup.... i recommend a long lasting foundation many long lasting foundations stick to the skin very well and are almost water resistant! i know with my Estee Lauder double wear, it WILL NOT wash off just in water! i need to use a makeup remover or cleanser to remove that bad boy! hahahaha so i recommend something along those lines!

If oily skin or sweat is your issue you CANT go past blotting tissues!

they are little absorbent papers that suck up all the excess grease and oil!

if you wernt going to use blotting tissues and just re-apply and re-apply powder your face will end up looking like this

powder ontop of powder will create many layers and your skin will look awful! so blott then re-apply powder!

Another thing i can recommened is using a setting spray......or if you have to hair spray
this will set your makeup and help it last all day!
my personal favourite at the moment is
Australis Setting Spritz
AND LASTLY if you can get your hands on this i really recommened it, it works a treat!
This is Ben Nye Tanslucent setting powder its the finest powder there is, it gets into every crack in your face its amazing. BUT its not fine enough to go into your pores!
This powder is a antiperspirant.....AND BEFORE YOU ALL GO CRAZY
This doesnt stop you from sweating, it stop the sweat when it appears by absorbing it!

I bought mine from

In summer dewy flawless skin is a must BUT NOT SHINY!
so hopefully these tips help you to keep the little shiny monster at bay!

Here is some photos of the Summer Goddess look i created!

Thankyou all so much for reading I LOVE YOU ALL
till next time
Stay Stunning

Foundation 101

Hey Guys!!
So considering i did a BIG blog on Contouring i though i should talk about foundation as well and go a little more In Depth with this!
If you have watched my Foundation 101 tutoiral i did expaline a fair bit BUT in saying that the tutoiral was long enough as it was with-out adding more!
So hence the foundation blog post!

90% of flawless makeup lays on your foundation! If your foundation isn't correct you whole makeup look has failed!

When you looking for the "perfect foundation" you need to consider a few things first.
1- what type of foundation you like?
2- what coverage would you like (dependes on your answer to no1)
3- SPF or no SPF
4- Price!
5- Colour

So lets start with the first question!

As you may or may not know there are HEAPS of different types of foundations, now im not talking a certine brand im talking more the consistency of the foundation.
Here they are.......

Quite possible the most popular foundation choice!
Its obviously a liquid consitancy, most you can
chose your coverage by applying more or less.
Liquid foundation isHydrating and offers a smooth finish to your
LASTING- Depends on brand, most have to be used in
conjunction with a powder to make it last longer
SKIN TYPE- Suitable for all skin types

Ok so most of you may have tried the
dream matte mousse! Basically Mousse are all a matte
texture. The consistency is well mousy! Can be cakey if
you use too much though! Also i can show some of the
baby fine hairs on your face.
LASTING- Personlly i found that it looked great for a
few hours but then it started to go patchy in some areas
SKIN TYPE- Normal to Oily skin Not sutible for dry skin
as it will dry it out too much!

So there has been soo much hype about mineral
products! Basically its a powder i was surprised at how
flawless the coverage could be! Colours can be hard to match
as most companies only have limited colours.
LASTING- Not too bad will need to be re-applyed
but again dont use too much or you will get cake face!
SKIN TYPE- Again normal to oily skin. as this is a powder
it can be drying!

Have a very nice cooling feeling on the skin
Similar to a liquid constancy but slightly thicker
You do need to work fairly quicky to appy to product
as it can set very quickly and leave streaking
LASTING- Long lasting
SKIN TYPE- All skin types if you have sensitive
skin do a test swatch first

Also know as airbrush
this offers a dewy flawless finish
You may need to use alot of product to get your
desired result!
LASTING- Medium lasting becasue of the dewy finish
you will need to set it with a powder
SKIN TYPE- All skin types, Becasue its a areasole
DONT spray it directly on your face, spray it on your hand
then apply it! UNLESS you have to proper air brush tools

BB CREAM/ Tinted Moistuiser
Well im in LOVE with BB cream its the perfect
go-to product when your in a rush. Give your skin
a healthy dewy glow with light coverage
the only down side is, its 1 shade that melts into your skin
but its designed for light-fair skin types
Consitancy is just like a liquid foundation
LASTING- because its such a light coverage the lasting
isnt the best
SKIN TYPES- ALL this is great to also help repaire and fight

SO they are the Basic types of foundaiton! A large part of type of foundation you buy will rest on what result your looking for!
Light coverage, Full Coverage, Dewy finish, Matte Finish ETC
These are my Personal Favouites for your desired result BUT unfortunatly alot of it is trial and error!

Light Coverage- Lioele BB Cream, Napolean Perdis Sheer Genius
Full Coverage- Estee Lauder Double Wear, Revlon Colour Stay
Matte Finish- Nude by Nature Mineral
Dewy Finish- Max Factors Smooth Effect

These foundations are a combination or different types. My current favourite is Estee Lauder Double wear which is a full coverage but still give your skin a dewy glow my Colour is Creamy Tan

Persoanlly i say SPF the more protection you can have for you skin the better, but its no biggie if the foudnation doesnt have spf becasue you can simply apply it under your foundation.
One problem with a HIGH SPF foudnation is in photos it will give your skin a ghostly sheen!

To avoide this simply chose a foundation with a SPF of 15 or less. My Estee lauder foundation has a SPF of 10! so in photos my face still appears normal colour!

So before you go searching for the "perfect foundation" ask yourself what end result would you like!
Another factor is $$$$$
This is my personal view, and im someone that currently has 9 foundations sitting (basically full) in my makeup room :o
INVEST in a great quality foundation! Yes its more expensive but trust me you will be thanking yourself in the long run! For one your guarenteed in a great quality product, also you dont need to use as much, the same foundation will last you 3x as long as a cheap foundation and in the long run it pretty much equals to the same amount of money spent!
My Estee Lauder foundation is $67 and last me 4-5 Months! YES IM NOT JOKING!
where as i can buy a $15 foudnaiton and it might be ok at first but then for some reason im not happy with the results anymore......and it last me 1 month or so!
So you mars well fork out the $$ and get a fantastic foundation that you know will look great for 4-5 months then a alright foundation that will look ok for 1month!

Once you have found what brand you like and what coverage etc your after, its time to pick the right colour! THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART!
You dont want a foundation thats too light or too dark or not the right shade!
There are underlying pigments in foundaitons the 3 types are

Is best suited for english rose or paler skin types.Or skin that burns easily.
PINK is right of you is silver looks better on your skin type
Pink based foundaiton will tend to look warmer more on the redder side,
more peachy toned

suited for olive and tan darker skin.
YELLOW will be best for you if gold looks better on you
Yellow foundation will look slightly stange in the bottle
but trust me they are great on! They will be more Honey toned

Not many comanies have a neautal tone but hey, your the lucky one
you can wear both Pink and Yellow! Neutral foundaiton
have a blue pigment so the colour isnt too pink or too yellow

the simplest way to pick the right colour is to swatch it on your skin!
NOT YOUR WRIST! you dont wear foundation on your wrist!
So if you tossing betweet a few colours, simply swatch a visible line on your skin, one next to the other.
I recommend going into the sunlight (outside) and using a mirror to see. The lights in store are artificial and wont give you a true reading.
The Foundation that disappears into your skin is the correct shade for you!
IMPORTANT when looking for foundation, DONT wear makeup to the store! Go all Natur-al =D

So i hope that this has helped!

Ive talked about more application and what tools are the best to use in my YouTube Tutoiral

Thankyou all for reading
I love you all
Till next time...stay stunning xxx

Smoke and Mirrors....Honestly that is all makeup really is. It creating a certain look or using techniques to create something that isn't naturally there!

Same goes for Contorting and GEES am i thankful for contouring!
Its a simple form of makeup, creating shadows and highlight to change the appearance of your bone structure!
In my case making me look like i have a defined jaw line and high cheekbones.....which i don't!
Contouring can also be used to slim down your forehead, shorten your nose or soften the strong line of a square face!

I have touched on contouring in my foundation routine but my face shape isn't the same as every one's. So by watching the tutorial it might not be suited for your face shape! so i wanted to go IN DEPTH and explore and explain contouring with all face shapes help you all out!
So if you interested in contorting your face or want to learn more Keep on reading!

Before you even start contouring you need to know what face shape you have!

These are the basic shapes of faces

If your unsure there is a simple way to work it out!

1- Pull all your hair off your face so your face shape is visible
2- Stand in front of a mirror
3- Using a lip liner or a whiteboard marker trace the outline of your face! You will need to stay very    still and  you will feel a bit uncoordinated but trust me this works!
4- Once face shape has been drawn stand back and look at the shape! Use pictures for reference and WA LA you should be able to work out your face shape!

So Are you ready to start changing your face shape with makeup!!??

-apply your foundation and a tiny bit of powder!
-You will need a Matte Bronzer or a powder a few shades darker then your skin tone!
You want to use matte colours because they will look the most natural! you dont want glitter and    shimmer all over your face!
- And lastly a white (or peach if your darker skinned) eyeshadow or highlighter (a little bit of shimmer wouldn't hurt)

Anything that is contoured with a dark shade will appear smaller or sunken in
Anything that is highlighted with a light shade will appear more obvious or raised out more!

The first ones we will start with are the Oblong, Rectangle and Square face as they are very similar

~You will have a face that is longer then it is wide
~Your jaw line will be softly rounded
~The sides of your face are straight -- your forehead, cheekbones and    jaw-line    are the same width
~Your hairline may be rounded

~Your face is almost as wide as it is long
~Your jaw is broad and your jaw-line is square
~The sides of your face are straight -- your forehead,
cheekbones and jaw are the same width
~Your hairline is most probably straight

~Your face is definitely longer than wide
~Your jaw is broad and your jaw-line is square
~The sides of your face are straight -- your forehead,
cheekbones and jaw-line are the same width
~Your hairline is most likely straight

You want to start by contouring the corners of your face to make them appear more angular, slim your face down and give it a softer edge! Add highlight to your forehead and chin to give your face some more dimension rather then being too flat.

~Your face is slightly longer than wide
~Your jaw-line is long and pointed
~Your cheekbones are the widest part of your face. They are often
high and pointed
~Your forehead and jaw-line are tapered
~Your eyes, nose and mouth are well balanced vertically

Because your Cheekbones are the highest and the widest parts of you face
you need to contour these to make your face appear more even.
By adding highlight to your chin are forehead this will elongate these
areas and make them more balances with the rest of you face!

The only difference between the inverted triangle and the heart shaped faces are that the heart has a widows peak.

~Your face is slightly longer than wide
~Your jaw-line is long and pointed
~The sides of your face taper from your forehead to your jaw
~Your forehead is the widest part of your face, or the
same width as your cheekbones
~Your jaw is the narrowest part of your face

Because your face is quite angular to start off with, basically your just enhancing the features of your face!
By Highlighting the under eye area you are bringing the front of your cheekbones forwards, detracting away from the width of your face, By highlighting your forhead and chin your adding more definition and a dewy finish to your skin!
Contouring the sides of your forehead and cheeks, will help slim it down and give you more definition.

~our face is slightly longer than wide
~Your jaw is broad
~The side of your face tapers from your jaw to your forehead
~our jaw is the widest part of your face and your forehead is narrow

Contour the side of your face to slim them down, By highlighting your chin your going to draw attention to it and elongate the length,
Also by highlighting the forehead your going to make it appear wider and have draw more attention to it! Highlight under the eyes to give your face the illusion of cheekbones!

~our face is almost as wide as it is long
~Your jaw-line is round and full
~Your cheekbones are the widest part of your face and round
~Your hairline is most probably round

Because your face is sooooo round you can be prone to having a "Baby Face" you need to add some structure back into your face! So go heavy with the contouring! on the Temples, Cheekbones and the sides of the jaw you give you LOTS more definition!
By Highlight your chin and forehead you can bring these areas forward and give your face a more angular shape!

~Your face is slightly longer than wide
~Your jaw-line is slightly rounded
~The outline of your face is an inverted egg-shape -- your
face is widest at the cheekbones. Your forehead is fairly broad
(broader than you jaw)
~Your face can be divided into 3 equal horizontal sections
between the hairline, eyebrows, end of nose and chin
~Your eyes are evenly spaced, with one eye width distance between them
~Your face has no extreme characteristics.
For example you do not have very small or very large eyes, mouth or nose.

Basically an oval face doesn't have much shape either
All this picture demonstrates is highlighting to bring areas of your face into focus and make them more pronounced. But if you want to create more cheek bones contour similar to the Round face shape!

So as always this is JUST A GUIDE! Rules are always meant to be broken! but if your starting out with contouring this is a great guide to help you on your way!

To finish off i wanted to touch on Nose contouring
Contouring your nose can make it seem slimier or shorter/longer. It helps also to add more definition to your features

This is a simple method and works for most nose shapes
Contour down the sides of your nose can make your nose appear straighter and slimmer

Highlighting down the center of your nose makes it appear longer
and by contouring the bottom of your nose (near nostrils) will make your nose appear shorter

So that's pretty much all! I know this is quite a long blog post but no one is the same and i really wanted to cover contouring for everyone!

Till next time stay stunning

Perfect Eyeliner! Tips Tricks and Advice x

Eyeliner can be a girls best friend....and a worst nightmare!
Learning how to apply eyeliner weapon every girl should have in their arsenal (sorry my hubby just got MW3 hahahaa)
But in all honesty its a must for most makeup look, i myself feel naked when im not wearing eyeliner!

So to get a few things clear when im talking eyeliner

This is not what i mean!
There is nothing worse then panda eye makeup, I know there are situations where a dark sultry smokey eyeliner looks fantastic, but it is a rare occurrence and not something that should be worn on a day to day basis. Also when wearing panda eye makeup i recommend toning down the rest of your makeup. Use a nude or soft pink lipstick also tone down anything too low cut etc as the combination of all that may give you other the wrong impression

No Offence to Taylor I love her music =D

Anyways eyeliner if done corrently bring your makeup to a whole new level. It can make your eyelashes apear thicker and fuller by "tightlining" your eyes (applyline eyeliner to your top waterline), It can make your eye colour POP, and also give you a amazing sultry look to your makeup!

A few Cons about eyeliner though especially black eyeliner is it can close your eyes and make them apear smaller.

One thing ive found it this is only the case when your wearing eyeliner only, if you couple the eyeliner with a smokey eyeshaodw it transforom the look completely!
But if you do want to make your eyes as BIG as possible i recommend using a White or Peach (if your darker skinned) on your waterline this will create the illusion of bigger eyes by making the whites of your eyes seem larger!

One eyeliner look that is such a classic look but can be difficult is the Cat eyeliner look!
Gone though history and associated with the most glamorous women!

Again if done correctly

You dont want the eyeliner to be the most dominate feature on your face!

Its a very simple and classy look but it can be difficult to achieve that beautiful crisp line.
So NEVER FEAR i have created a tutoiral showing you how to create this classic look!

For this tutorial i recommend using a Liquid eyeliener, thats not too flimsy but not too stiff to use! I feel ive found the PERFECT ONE! this not the darkest colour but multiple coats will get you there!
(i talk more about eyeliners in the tutorial)
It a Lioele Brush Pen eyeliner and its to die for honestly thats all i can say you'll have to try it out to see what i mean! I got this from www.circlelens.com.au
If your interested in trying this eyeliner out use discount code "Stunning" for 10% Off store wide!

Here are some photos of the finished look!

Thanx for reading i LOVE YOU ALL
and ill see you all again soon
